Terms and Conditions

The terms governing your use of ByteKiwi. We have kept these simple and straightforward.

Last updated:

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of ByteKiwi (the "Site") and the tools, articles, and other content available on it. By using ByteKiwi, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We have written these terms as plainly as possible. Legal language exists where it is necessary; we have avoided it where it is not.

Informational purposes

ByteKiwi provides developer tools and articles for informational and practical purposes. While we take accuracy seriously and test our tools thoroughly, the output of any tool on this site should be treated as a convenience, not as authoritative output for production-critical decisions.

Always verify tool output before using it in contexts where errors could cause harm, data loss, or security issues. This applies especially to encoding, cryptographic, and parsing tools.

No warranties

ByteKiwi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • That tools will produce correct output in all cases
  • That the site will be available at any particular time or continuously
  • That tools will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • That the site will be free from errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities

We work hard to make ByteKiwi reliable, but no software is perfect. Use it accordingly.

Acceptable use

You may use ByteKiwi for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:

  • Use the site to process data you are not authorized to handle
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the site
  • Use the site in any way that could interfere with its normal operation or other users' access
  • Attempt to bypass any security measures, rate limits, or access controls
  • Use the site to transmit malware, spam, or other harmful content
  • Misrepresent tool output as something it is not

These restrictions exist to protect the integrity of the tools and the people who rely on them.

Intellectual property

The ByteKiwi name, logo, and design are owned by ByteKiwi. The source code behind the tools may be released under an open-source license in the future - we will provide details when that happens.

The articles and written content on the site are owned by ByteKiwi. You may quote or reference content with attribution but may not reproduce it wholesale on other sites or platforms without permission.

The output produced by ByteKiwi tools belongs to you. We make no claim over anything you create using the site.

External links

ByteKiwi links to external websites including documentation, tools, and references. These links are provided for convenience. We do not control external sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

Linking to a site does not imply our endorsement of it. If you follow an external link, you do so at your own discretion and subject to that site's own terms and policies.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ByteKiwi and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to:

  • Data loss or corruption resulting from reliance on tool output
  • Loss of revenue or profits
  • Service interruptions
  • Errors in tool output that affect downstream processes

This limitation applies regardless of whether damages were foreseeable and regardless of the form of action (contract, tort, or otherwise).

If you are using ByteKiwi in a professional context, please ensure you have appropriate processes in place to verify tool output before using it in production systems.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows and evolves. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ByteKiwi after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

If you have questions about any of these terms, please contact us before using the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with applicable law. We aim to resolve any disputes informally first. If you have a concern, please contact us directly and we will do our best to address it.
